energy efficient windows available to buy today.
How Is The BRFC Grade Worked Out?
The British Fenestration Ratings Council devised the BRFC certification scheme because conventional ways of measuring and grading energy efficiency failed to take into account critical factors such as how much energy a window can gain.
Rather than simply assigning a U-value, the BRFC grade is awarded based on the following criteria:
- The thermal transmittance (the U-value)
- The solar factor (the g-value)
- Air leakage (L50)
The scale runs from A to G, with A being the most energy efficient.
